Post Oil Injection Model 450
PRODUCT DETAILS
A 450-Type Post Oil Injection System (often referred to in the feed industry as a Vacuum Coater or PPLA - Post Pelleting Liquid Application) is a critical piece of machinery used in the production of high-quality animal feed, particularly for aquatic species (fish/shrimp) and premium pet food.
The "450" designation typically refers to the batch capacity or the diameter of the mixing drum, designed to handle approximately 450 liters per batch or a specific throughput volume.
What is Post Oil Injection?
In traditional feed manufacturing, adding high levels of fat or oil into the mixer before extrusion can weaken the structural integrity of the pellet. Post Oil Injection solves this by applying liquids after the pellets have been extruded and dried. By using a vacuum environment, the system "pulls" the oil deep into the porous core of the pellet, rather than just coating the surface.
Core Features of the 450-Type System
Vacuum Technology: By creating a negative pressure environment, the system removes air from the pellet’s pores. When the oil is sprayed and the vacuum is released, atmospheric pressure forces the oil into the center of the pellet.
Precision Dosing: Equipped with high-accuracy flow meters and load cells, the 450-type ensures that the oil-to-feed ratio is consistent within ±0.5%, which is vital for nutritional consistency.
Uniform Coating: The system uses a rotating drum or a twin-shaft paddle mixer to ensure that every pellet is evenly exposed to the atomized liquid spray.
Multi-Liquid Capability: Beyond oils and fats, the system can inject enzymes, vitamins, and flavor enhancers that are heat-sensitive and would otherwise be destroyed during the extrusion process.
Application Fields
Aquatic Feed: Essential for high-energy fish fillets (like salmon or trout) where fat content can exceed 30%.
Pet Food Manufacturing: Used to apply "palatants" and fats to dry kibble to improve taste and coat shine.
Poultry & Livestock: Applying heat-sensitive enzymes or organic acids to improve gut health and feed conversion ratios (FCR).
